Yellow Pot, housed in Six Senses Duxton, is not a traditional Chinese restaurant. With its black, gold and yellow theme, Yellow Pot’s beautiful decor mirrors the modern Chinese slant of its cuisine.

Start with the chilled organic vine-ripened tomato infused in plum sauce. Served with a side of dehydrated tomato skin and micro greens, it is juicy, acidic and sweet, proving a crowd pleaser. The main dish of steamed Kuhlbarra barramundi is interestingly paired with scallion ginger pesto. And a must-have is the stir-fried mee sua with tiger prawns and fresh bean sprouts—a wonderfully robust dish with beautiful aromas where every bite’s a delight.

Cocktails here are exciting. Try On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, an intriguing mix of gin, vermouth, yuzu and green tea bitters, served—perhaps a little too plainly sans garnish— in a martini glass.

Overall the restaurant’s creatively daring approach is a gamble that paid off with a few signature dishes that are not to be missed.
