Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant

Located in Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant is a great venue for business lunches and family gatherings. There are intimate four-seater booths for smaller groups and private rooms that can accomodate up to 50 guests.

This award-winning Cantonese restaurant consistently wows with its repertoire of classics from the Cantonese canon. Inspired by elements of four Chinese arts, namely qin (zither), qi (strategic board games), shu (calligraphy), and hua (paintings), the restaurant’s interiors are boldly appointed in black and gold, and dotted with prized calligraphy and works of art. The sense of luxury and resplendence is unmistakable.

This aesthetic extends to the food as well. Using minimal seasoning and premium ingredients, the kitchen serves up artful creations like steamed shrimp dumplings with black truffle and cordyceps, or deep-fried yam dumplings topped with mini abalone and scallops.

Try the stewed bird’s nest with crabmeat and superior sauce, Hong Kong style ‘bi feng tang’ wok-fried lobster with deep-fried garlic, or South Africa dried abalone with Japanese shiitake mushrooms in a secret sauce. Apparently, the last takes about a week to prepare.

When it is time for dessert, one might be tempted to order the classic mango pudding or deep-fried red bean pancake. But more creative options abound—think chilled coconut pudding with purple glutinous rice purée, and deep-fried crispy durian.
