Singapore's Top Restaurants

Town Restaurant

A meal at town is like a whirlwind tour of Asia’s best dishes—and then some.

Variety is key at Town Restaurant. Start with the spread of swimmingly fresh seafood, from oysters and clams to prawns and more, before venturing further into the restaurant, where all manner of Singaporean favourites await. There’s chicken rice, mee siam (spicy rice vermicelli), bak kut teh (pork bone soup), and more. There is also the Indian station, which tempts with its range of curries—butter chicken, palak paneer, prawn curries and more—freshly baked naans and crackers, and the pasta station which serves up orders cooked a la minute. The restaurant also plays host to some of Singapore’s best hawkers and guest chefs, who will whip up their popular signatures for a real treat on these occasions. Sometimes, there are whole roasted suckling pigs with unbelievably crisp crackling; on other occasions, there are roasted frog legs cooked in a clay pot of fragrant rice.

When you have had your fill of savouries, check out the sumptuousselection of cheeses and desserts available. Tuck into luscious cakes, sweet mousses that are daintily presented in shot glasses, fresh fruit andsoul-satisfying bread pudding. There’s even a chocolate fountain for thosewho are after a little extra indulgence.
