Housed in a historical black and white bungalow amid beautiful landscaped greenery, this one-Michelin-starred Indian restaurant boasts an opulent setting and excellent, attentive service.
On the menu are vegetarian and non-vegetarian fare. For starters, the vegetarian kebab platter comprises samosa, paneer tikka or grilled cheese and kothimbir wadi, a Maharashtrian snack made of gram flour, yoghurt and spices. The samosa’s crisp exterior encases a filling of spiced potatoes, onions and peas, while piquant fresh coriander shines through in the wadi. For mains, choose the signature lobster moily, a whole pan seared lobster in all its fresh fullflavoured sweetness, served with a delicate nutty Kerala moily sauce, lifted with chilli and lemon. The bhuna ginger lamb, comprising lamb sautéed with ginger and caramelised onions and served as a medium-hot curry, is good too, recommended by the attentive staff who took time to explain not just the ingredients, but the history of the dishes. Also noteworthy is the green subz medley, featuring spinach, edamame and asparagus cooked with house-grown organic herbs and spices. Finish the meal with rasmalai, delicate spongy cheese dumplings soaked in a creamy saffron milk.
