First opened at Chijmes more than two decades ago, Tatsu is well-known for unrivalled sashimi, sushi and teppanyaki. Its second outlet at Asia Square has proven to be a winner too. While the well-priced bento boxes (from $28) are especially popular for weekday lunch, dinner here takes the cuisine to another level of refinement.

With fresh produce delivered from Japan four times a week, diners can be assured of absolute freshness regardless whether they opt for the omakase menu or the a la carte. From the latter, the appetiser of thinly sliced flounder with truffle oil and caviar is just delectable. The delicate flavours of the fish pair deliciously with aromatic truffle oil, while the caviar adds a rich mouthfeel. The aburi sushi is another highlight— seafood such as tuna belly and salmon are lightly seared and simply melts in the mouth. Don’t miss the scrumptious ox tongue fried rice too.

From the teppanyaki selection, enjoy the wagyu beef and lobster. Cooked medium-rare, the beef is tender and flavourful, while the lobster is sweet and succulent. If you prefer a set meal, have the dinner teppanyaki set comprising salad, king prawn, salmon, beef or chicken, vegetables, garlic fried rice, miso soup and dessert.
