    Nine-year-old Taratata Brasserie is the place for consistently good, traditional French cuisine, complete with Parisian bistro trademarks of red leather banquettes and checkerboard floors. Start with appetisers like the fabulous homemade foie gras terrine with sweet onion chutney, baked cheese casserole with truffle, and hearty French onion soup. The duck confit is lovely: beneath crisp skin is fork-tender meat with potatoes and a most flavoursome morel sauce. The beef bourguignon is fall-apart tender, hearty and comforting, served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Finish with crepes suzette, flambéed tableside with Grand Marnier, offering a luscious balance of sweet, tangy and buttery.
