Meaning ‘third wife’ in Cantonese, Sum Yi Tai takes diners back to 1980s Hong Kong with its eclectic Chinese opulence. In Sum Yi Tai’s hedonistic cocktail bar, sip on tipples infused with pipagao, wolfberries and other traditional Chinese tonic ingredients. Food is typically Cantonese with local touches. Have the crisp, chunky salmon skin with salted egg yolk, and generously marbled roast pork and char siew platter which pair perfectly with their cocktails. But the star is definitely the scrumptious XO carrot cake, arguably among the best in town. Service is efficient. It gets busy with a local office crowd, so book ahead.
