2018 Review
Despite its location at Marina Bay Sands, the prices at thisSingapore-style seafood restaurant remain happily reasonable. This is perhaps a nod to its humble beginnings inan industrial estate along Defu Lane.
One popular favourite here is the cuttlefish with deep-fried kangkong, a novel interpretation of the classic local dish which traditionally sees the vegetables steamed or boiled and swathed in a sweet sauce. Be sure to order the bamboo clams with garlic and glass vermicelli too. It looks simple, but is an absolute taste sensation. This being a Singapore-style seafood restaurant, diners would be remiss to forego the chilli crab. The butter crab, in a rich creamy sauce flecked with fried garlic, is also delicious.
To end off a rich meal, opt for the the lemongrass jelly with mashed sour plum at dessert. It is light and fresh, and an excellent palate cleanser.
