With laid-back interiors, GAIG Restaurant impresses with downright exquisite Spanish cuisine. An outpost of Barcelona’s celebrated establishment by chef Carles Gaig, its impressive heritage dates back to 1869.
You cannot go wrong with the food here. The jamon Iberico croquette entices with silken Iberico filling in a delicately crisp, finely breaded shell. The cannelloni, made from the original 1869 recipe, is mind-blowingly sublime, with unctuously flavoursome braised beef filling, while the supremely tender roasted octopus is possibly the best in town. For dessert, have the light but intensely flavoured orange ice-cream soufflé.
Service is efficient, and prices very reasonable.
