Escape to this relaxing all-day restaurant at Carlton City Hotel Singapore where floor-to-ceiling windows let in natural light and affords views of surrounding greenery. Helmed by executive chef Fong Chee Chung, Plate offers both buffet and contemporary a la carte selections, served by friendly staff.

From the a la carte menu, the open-faced wrap is generously filled with avocado, portobello mushroom, fried yam and gouda cheese crowning soft taco rolls. Though messy to eat, this appetiser is fun and healthy. The signature nasi kampong, or fried rice is served with an assortment of chicken and mutton satays. Fiery homemade sambal and satay sauce tie the flavours of the dish together. The comforting Hokkien noodles is also enjoyable, but elevate it with a side order of lobster for extra indulgence. For a Western classic, have Plate’s signature wagyu beef burger, where a hearty 200g wagyu beef patty, cheese and grilled onions are sandwiched between toasted brioche buns.

End with creamy mango rice pudding with coconut sorbet and gula melaka sauce for an interesting twist on the classic version, or the durian crème brulée with choux pastry.
