2018 Review
A trip to Picotin Express is well worth the trek. Here, with its leafy al fresco setting, spacious deck and location overlooking the Champions Gold Course, you feel like youre anywhere but Singapore.
A family-friendly establishment that manages to also be romantic and peaceful, the menu is extensive (pastas, pizzas, starters, main courses, bar snacks, desserts) with an all-day breakfast menu for weekends and public holidays, and a customisable kids meal. On the drinks front, theres a range of new and old world wines, cocktails and Kilkenny on tap, one of the rare places in Singapore to offer it fresh.
To start, order beetroot carppaccio with creamy mozzarella balls, or the moreish mozzarella sticks served with a chunky tomato relish. While predictable, main courses like Pico Burger with bacon, cheese and fries are well executedthe patty encased between a sesame bun is meaty and juicy, with just the right amount of bite. Equally well done is the thin-crust wood-fired Pinto Pizza (one of 12 options) with a liberal amount of toppings (Parma ham, crisp rocket leaves and Parmesan cheese shavings).
Linger on for dessert. The creamy panna cotta drizzled with passion fruit coulis and fresh berries treads the perfect balance between sour and sweet. It’s a palate cleanser and a sweet ending to a meal.
