Tucked away in Orchard Hotel, Orchard Café is a hidden foodie gem with its delectable well-priced buffet complete with live stations. It also offers an a la carte menu that includes signatures from the former Noodles restaurant that has been integrated with the cafe.

Apart from buffet staples such as sashimi and sushi, and fresh seafood on ice, the line-up features many made-to-order items. Enjoy Orchard Cafe’s signature roasted duck and golden suckling pig as well as freshly prepared la mian. Other popular favourites include Taiwan porridge and Ah Huat Chai Boey, stewed Chinese mustard greens with pork.

Be sure to check out the local spread which includes familiar crowd-pleasers such as Singapore chilli crab and mui choy pork belly with steamed bun. Not to be missed is the laksa with its rich fragrant spicy coconut gravy. The kueh pie tee, with stewed jicama and assorted vegetables packed in crispy cups shaped like top hats, is a real treat for lovers of local cuisine, as is the rojak, a crunchy medley of fruit and vegetables tossed in a bold, savoury fermented prawn paste dressing. There is also a satay station dishing up freshly grilled chicken and pork meats to be paired with traditional rice cakes and peanut sauce.

Alternatively, check out the selection of Chinese and Indian dishes available. Enjoy tamarind-laced fish curry or spiced lamb curry with biryani rice and pickles, then pile on a serving of black pepper wok-fried fish, and mussels cooked in a spicy, tangy kam heong sauce. For those who prefer Western offerings, there is a small selection of dishes such as grilled chicken, roasted pumpkin, and mac and cheese. Desserts include cheesecake, panna cotta, fruit crumble and pastry puffs. Don’t miss the hugely popular durian pengat as well.
