2018 Review
Set in a glass-clad pod within the Fullerton Heritage precinct and overlooking the Singapore River, Monti is a delightful locale for evening cocktails and dinner.
Head chef Felix Chong dishes up contemporary Italian fare featuring fresh, seasonal produce and a smattering of Asian ingredients. It is a combination that makes for some memorable meals.
To start, try the Hokkaido scallops with celeriac, porcini mushrooms, chestnuts and crispy San Daniele ham. The smoked swordfish carpaccio is also delectable with its heady flavours. Pasta lovers will appreciate the squid ink tagliolini with Hokkaido sea urchin, caviar, oysters and Sardinian bottarga, a truly indulgent treat. Risotto is finished tableside in a wheel of cheese, lending extra umami notes to the already delectable rice.
The charcoal-grilled Sanchoku wagyu OP rib weighs in at 1kg, and is hearty enough to be shared among four diners though two robust appetites could easily polish it off. At dessert, the ‘cigarâ is a lovely way to end the meal. If you havenât already tried it, we wonât spoil the surprise.
*Good to note: Live jazz performances entertain throughout the evening. Monti also offers great value set lunches. Its weekend brunches are also a fine way to while away an afternoon, grazing on Italian delights and plenty of vino.
