The seafood soups come well-recommended; try the seafood with bamboo fungus consommé and braised fish maw with seafood in carrot broth. Other sound choices at Mitzo include stir-fried lobster claw with petai bean sauce stuffed with shrimp over a bed of sautéed asparagus and mushroom, as well as baked Chilean seabass with a light seasoning of lemongrass and spices.

Instead of the usual Peking duck, unique to Mitzo is its roasted coffee pork neck served Peking duck style with crispy beancurd skin and Chinese pancake. Mitzo also offers other specialities such as fragrant black truffle crispy roasted duck, and duck stir-fried in garlic and mint leaves. Pair your meat dishes with braised silken tofu, egg plant and chilli peppers stuffed with shrimp marinated in spicy black bean sauce, and poached rice and lobster meat in superior broth. The sweet-sour broth is first brought to a rolling boil before adding the pan-seared rice, which is gently simmered. This gives the rice a lovely well-rounded crispiness.

At dessert, enjoy warm birds’ nest in almond cream, paired with a rich and creamy baked Hokkaido milk cheese tart with a flaky crust. If you prefer chilled desserts, choose the refreshing osmanthus jelly with red ruby and lychee, which is served with a mini charcoal custard bun.
