At the spacious Mikuni restaurant, variety is the buzz word. Go for one of the exquisite kaiseki sets featuring the best of the season, or order from the teppanyaki, sushi and robatayaki live stations.
Start with truffle kampachi, a delicate cold starter of yellowtail with yuzu, black truffle soy sauce, lily bulbs and micro cress; or go for one of the warm starters such as wagyu gyoza made with Kagoshima wagyu, and foie gras gyoza paired with kabocha wasabi butter. From the robatayaki menu, highlights include Miyazaki wagyu beef, lobster uni yaki (grilled Boston lobster with sea urchin cream) and tokujo sashimi moriwase.
Fire up a king crab fried rice or Kurobuta pork rib on the teppan grill, or aomori ichiyaboshi squid and oyster with citrus butter on the robatayaki. Pair the meal with a wide selection of drinks including wines, sakes, shochu and Japanese whiskies.
