This casual eatery along Telok Ayer is one of the underrated gems in town. Its offerings are fairly straight-forward: hearty grill staples done well. The Market Grill was probably the first to introduce lobster rolls to the island. The dish has since made its way into numerous menus, but they still do it pretty decently here, with half a kilo of whole Boston or Nova Scotia lobster tucked into a lightly toasted brioche roll and served with fat golden fries. The real draw, however, has to be the grilled steaks. We recommend the Black Angus beef bavetteÂa hefty 250g of grain-fed flavour-packed flank steak, cooked to a perfect medium rare and a steal at just $45.
Other sound bets: the crab cakes and the oven-roasted bone marrow topped with caramelised opinions and anchovies for a salty hit.
