Long Chim Singapore

This David Thompson outpost serves Thai street food with a contemporary edge. Live stations convey the spirit of Thailand’s vibrant market streets in a modern dining room that faces the waters of the Marina Bay.

Grilled pork skewers and crunchy prawn cakes are a great way to get things started. The latter features baby prawns battered and deep-fried into moreish fritters—perfect for washing down with a bottle of beer. Eschew the ubiquitous papaya and mango salad and opt instead for the spicy yet refreshing grilled long eggplant with dried prawns and steamed egg. For a delicious alternative to traditional pad Thai, try Prin’s Noodles. Tangy and spicy, the fried rice noodles are generously tossed with pork, prawns and vegetables in a searing wok, and flavoured with chilli and oyster sauces. Another must-order: the fiery green beef curry served with a side of deep-fried roti and garnished with cucumber to temper the heat.

At dessert, you cannot go wrong with mango sticky rice, drizzled with lush sweetened coconut cream. And if you are a lover of the King of Fruit, the durian ice cream is your ticket to dessert heaven.
