Singapore's Top Restaurants

La Tapería

Although it is hidden away on the second floor of ShawCentre, Spanish restaurant La Tapería constantly bustleswith diners who come here for well-executed classics such as fried egg with Iberico chorizo, pepper, mushrooms and potatoes, and honey glazed lamb.

When the restaurant gets crowded—which it often does—the food can take a while to arrive at the table, but the dishes are worth the wait. Always order the Super-Conchinillo Confit—Spanish suckling pig roasted in its own fat so that the meat is spoon-tender and its skin snappily crisp. To cut through its rich porcine flavour, it is served with sweet peaches and jammy onions. The seafood stew is also divine, redolent of shellfish and swimming with fresh prawns, scallops and mussels.

The servers here are well-versed in the menu andshould be trusted with their recommendations. The listof Spanish wines here is also impressive.
