Sundays at Kwee Zeen are simply magnifique—if you are partaking in its Magnifique Sunday Champagne Brunch, that is. Executive chef Bertrand Valegeas oversees the menu, and what a fine spread it is.

Here, a leg of parma ham is being freshly sliced. There, a suckling pig is roasted on a spit, then brought around to each table. To boot, there is a plethora of swimmingly fresh seafood, starting with oysters from the USA and France, yabbies, mussels, clams and prawns. And let’s not forget the giant Alaskan crabs and mud crabs the size of your palm that are peeled tableside. Oh, and there is foie gras cooked a la minute, and fresh pastas generously showered with truffle shavings.

Outside, chefs are on hand to cook local favourites like laksa and noodle soup served with clams and shrimps fished from a freshwater tank. A barbecue station brims with meats on the grill, while Indian curries and breads beckon. A perfectly grilled trout with the crispest skin is served with luscious vegetables, while over at another counter, tomahawk steaks tempt alongside roast beef and ribs, and fluffy yorkshire puddings.

Come time for dessert, your inner child will likely flock to the candy floss machine, while cakes, puddings and a never-ending chocolate fountain will test the true limits of how much you can eat. Given so much choice, it can be daunting deciding exactly what goes on your plate. But as the wise man knows, variety is the spice of life. One thing is for sure: you can be guaranteed something for everyone at the table.
