Located at the top of Orchard Central, a meal at Joie is always quiet, tranquil experience. One of a few vegetarian restaurants in the area, it serves a six- and seven-course set at lunch and dinner respectively.

Expect a seaweed cracker with wasabi cream, and a tart raspberry sphere set on a pistachio base to start. Gratinated mushrooms are draped in hot mozzarella, while bananas are served tempura-style. Mains include a fragrant truffle risotto with edamame, radish and mushroom; and a mushroom steak spiked with an unusual mushroom mustard.

The food here certainly delivers on creativity—one hardly misses the meat. Even dessert is a hearty affair of warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and truffle crème brûlée.
