A hidden gem in the heart of Siglap, Good Time is a quaint and cosy Peranakan establishment that offers a good mix of traditional and mod-fusion Peranakan dishes. Giving a respectful nod to nostalgia with vintage Chinese movie posters and traditional Peranakan motifs, the casual, inviting ambience makes it a perfect place for families and friends to gather for a delicious meal, affordable drinks and a good time.

Like any good Peranakan cook, the chef-owners are uncompromising when it comes to their sambals and rempahs, strictly making each from scratch using traditional techniques and recipes handed down through the generations. Must-tries include the Nyonya sambal barramundi, the tender fish oven-baked on a banana leaf and slathered in aromatic, homemade sambal, comprising a wondrous blend of over 20 secret ingredients. The indulgent fermented beancurd pork belly comes thinly sliced and deep-fried to a moreish crunch, and a subtly pungent complexity, while the Hurry! Hurry! Chicken Curry—a signature dish for good reason—involves tender pieces of chicken and potato in a rich and fragrant coconut curry, featuring an exceptionally well-balanced rempah with a depth of flavour any Nyonya would be proud of. The dishes are best enjoyed with jasmine rice and Nyonya achar for that perfect sweet and tangy crunch.

Super friendly service tops it all off, along with awesome happy hour deals as low as $6. What’s more, your pup is invited to tag along if you choose to dine al fresco.
