Quayside Isle, #01-12, 31 Ocean Way, Singapore 098375

Perched along scenic Quayside Isle, Gin Khao Bistro serves up modern Thai eats alongside lovely views of the marina. Expect a solid range of popular Thai street eats such as deep-fried prawn spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce and beer-battered deep-fried squid, as well as Thai staples like tom yum talay and glass noodles salad with grilled squid.

Kick start your meal with the prawn with green mango relish served with Thai rice crackers. The latter offers a lovely crispy contrast to the wet crunch of the shredded green mango. Follow up with a tangy spicy grilled ribeye beef salad or a refreshing mango salad, before moving on to the requisite tom yum soup—choose either the tom yum talay with seafood or the tom yum kung with prawns. The tom kha gai, juicy chickensimmered in thick coconut broth, is another solid choice.

Sound bets from the mains selection include: the cray fish with glass noodles in claypot, stir-fried squid in runny salted egg and the rather unique watermelon fried rice. The latter is similar to the conventional pineapple fried rice, only studded with juicy balls of watermelon for a refreshing crunch.

Finish off with traditional Thai desserts such as mango with sticky rice and steamed tapioca with coconut cream, or go for the more adventurous option of green curry gelato with sticky rice.
