2018 Review
Opened since 2010, Gattopardo has longevity in Singapore’s tough restaurant scene. It has changed directions and locations a couple times, and has matured into a well-loved establishment with deep roots. Its corner shophouse location boasts two floors of dining and a pretty courtyard.
Chef Lino Sauro’s food is creative, classic and authentic. Have the Capesanta, delicate scallops with roasted leeks and a light hazelnut cream sauce, and polipo, an earthy, comforting dish of octopus with aioli and chickpeas. For mains, have the prawn ravioli with truffles and burrata—richly savoury, with smooth, luxurious textures.
To end, the cassata—a detour from the traditional—is an addictive mound of light lemon sorbet, heaped with ricotta and a sprinkling of chocolate, mixed nuts and raspberries. Shudderingly delectable. And have we mentioned the service here is stellar? Warm, friendly and proactive.
