2018 Review
Situated along Capitol Piazzas main thoroughfare, Equilibrium Modern Italian Bacaro and Ristorante is a buzzy diner thats a good pick for Friday night chillout sessions.
Theres a standalone bar where you can taste quirky cocktail concoctions such as Black as my Soul, a pitch-black cocktail made with brandy, sweet vermouth and pasteurised squid ink. In the restaurant, youre literally spoilt for choice where food is concerned, as there is a long menu featuring varied modern Italian bites.
Zoom in on the Carte Blanche Mains section, where you choose your protein (beef, lamb, chicken, fish or duck) and let the chef get creative with the sauces and sides. Go for the seared Australian beef ribeye, which is tender and flavourful, and well-matched with roasted root vegetables, sweet potato gnocchi and a mushroom stout sauce. Alternatively, theres a good range of cream, tomato and olive-oil based pastas to go for, and a wide range of thin-crusted pizzas as well. For the latter, try the steak egg pizza, a savoury pizza punctuated by chunky slabs of beef Australian beef ribeye and a wobbly soft-boiled egg teetering in the centre.
End on a decadent note with their signature sinful chocolate cake, a generous slice of spongy dark chocolate cake complemented by a bitter-sweet chocolate sauce and a tidy trail of fresh strawberries, blueberries and nuts.
