Empress entices with its stunning interiors. Service is excellent here, while its contemporary Chinese cuisine is generally good. Pick carefully, and include distinct highlights like beef tenderloin with smoky garlic chips and piquant black pepper sauce; the elegant king prawn dumpling in supreme broth, and double-boiled soup in a whole coconut with dried scallops, bamboo fungus and prawns. Simply exquisite. Look out too for very creative vegetarian dishes, and lovely desserts. Don’t miss the bubor cha cha which has been updated with shaved iced coconut milk, yam cubes, fruits and black glutinous rice. Valet service is available in the evening.
