2018 Review
This restaurant specialises in Jiangnan and Sichuan cuisines, known respectively for their refined and fiery fare.
A great appetiser to whet your appetite is Wuxi-style deep-fried white bait, or sweet-tangy crispy fingers that will have you reaching for more. Next, try their signature xiao long bao, dainty steamed pork dumplings that are oozing with flavourful broth. For a good variety, go for steamed assorted flavours xiao long bao, a basket of four steamed buns in original, salted egg yolk, chilli crab and mushroom flavours.
For a hint of typical dishes found in the Jiangnan region, try their drunken chicken or braised dong po pork belly served with lotus bun. Moving on to spicier notes, a must-try is their selection of la mian. Go for the bold-flavoured signature Szechuan dan dan la mian served with peanut sauce and chilli oil, or savour options such as la mian with minced meat and mushroom in spicy sauce and la mian with scallion oil served with dong po pork belly. If you like your spice, try the poached sliced fish in Szechuan soup. The broth enriched with green vegetables, cellophane noodles and dried chilli is rich and spicy, but not numbing.
End the meal with the delicate osmanthus jelly with wolfberry, or something heartier such as the coconut cake.
