Nestled in Desker Road, CreatureS is a hidden gem easy to miss. Inside, this industrial-chic 30-seater is a cosy intimate space serving local Asian and Peranakan favourites with innovative twists.

Dishes on the a la carte menu are large enough to be shared comfortably. The Italian Godfather yong tau foo which has been given a modern spin is a popular choice. Grilled slices of chilli, aubergine and okra are stuffed with herb feta cheese and drizzled with balsamic dressing for a gorgeous, light appetiser—too pretty to eat yet oozing with flavour. The Hainanese chicken rice roll is also delightful, marrying chicken rice with Vietnamese-style rice rolls, cut and served sushi-style.

Favourite mains include the delicious but slightly fiery Nyonya-style CreatureS laksa, and hearty rendang lamb shank with lontong rice. Look out too for specials, particularly the popular lamb rendang risotto—a delectable balance of creamy risotto and the slow-cooked flavours of a perfect rendang.

For dessert, enjoy the signature homemade durian cake, oozing creamy Mao Shan Wang paste, and the silky You ‘Orh-Bee’ Good, a contemporary spin on the local pulut hitam, featuring black glutinous rice and creamy coconut panna cotta.

Worth noting, the restaurant offers affordable three course lunch sets at $28.
