Chi Kinjo is a modern sushi bar and highball den that exudes an edgy vibe laced with friendly service. For starters, have the salmon ceviche with buttery avocado chunks and crunchy hazelnut served with lightly spiced crackers. The kaffir lime karaage, consisting of juicy chicken fried perfectly crisp, is delicious and addictive. The maki rolls are highlights, particularly the Crouching Tiger roll with crispy prawn tempura, mentai mayonnaise and sakura ebi; and the Hidden Dragon roll, comprising anago, unagi with charcoal kabayai sauce. Chi Kinjo’s drinks menu—including reasonably priced highball creations, Japanese sakes and international whiskies—is impressive.
