2018 Review
Located in a colonial building dating back to the 1880s, Cassia is a supremely elegant fine dining Chinese restaurant that checks the boxes for good food and great setting. Glamorous yet elegant interiors by renowned architect Andre Fu ensconce diners in contemporary Chinois luxury, while its location in Sentosa makes it a tranquil escape from the town crowds.
From sophisticated creations to traditional, seemingly simple ones, the food at Cassia is masterfully prepared. Donât miss its stellar double-boiled thick chicken broth with fish maw, scallops and flower mushroom with its rich yet lightly textured broth; the very fragrant and smooth homemade beancurd with truffles and bailing mushroom; and wok-fried M9 wagyu beef which is tender and juicy, with a superlative piquant, complex but perfectly balanced black pepper sauce.
Also worth ordering is its juicy five-spice roasted Yorkshire pork belly with a delightfully crisp crackling; and the crispy sweet and sour pork, a seemingly ordinary dish but done extremely well indeed. Its weekend Oriental dim sum afternoon tea is also well known. Finally, expect top-notch service with attentive, friendly and impressively knowledgeable staff and an interesting Chinese tea menu.
*Good to note: Cassia is relatively wheelchair-friendly with lift access (ask the staff for directions), and easily accessible by car or cab.
