Ensconced in a row of shophouses along Mohammed Sultan Road, Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse is your go-to restaurant to chow down on a good steak. Striking tableaus on the walls, juxtaposing feminine beauty with the bovine beast, gives the restaurant a modern, edgy vibe.

Starters to rev up the appetite include slow-cooked octopus with Sicilian Pachino tomatoes, made up of smoky, tender morsels of meat paired with rocket salad, grilled prawns or a selection of cured meats. But the main highlight of any meal here is steak cooked Tuscan-style over a wood-fired grill. Known as bistecca alla Florentina, these are thick cuts of juicy meat between the sirloin and tenderloin you can have on-the-bone. Cooked using premium Wagyu-Holstein F1 (crossbreed) beef from Australia, raised on pasture and finished with organic feed with a 6+ marbling score, these steaks are available ‘Florentina’ or ‘Costata’ in sharing portions for two to three people.

Alternatively, other luscious meats you can have here include the Mey Selection grass-fed Scottish Black Angus (45-day dry-aged) and Japanese Ohmi wagyu from Shiga prefecture. Apart from beef, other dishes like squid ink tagliolini with blue crab and fennel, and pan-roasted lamb saddle with fregola sarda are available.

End the meal with a good selection of desserts such as the rhubarb, strawberries, yoghurt gelato with aged balsamic, and chocolate mousse with hazelnut praline crunch, pistachio sponge and passion fruit sorbet.
