Founded by renowned Italian restaurateur-chef Beppe De Vito, Amò serves a selection of Italian staples crafted by chefs who not only make the pastas from scratch, but also spent two years at a pizza academy in Italy to hone their skills.
Set in a refurbished shophouse, its interiors exude vintage charm with mosaic floor tiles and a traditional warehouse metal gate from the 1950s. Bare brick walls and captivating light fixtures give the restaurant a post-industrial vibe.
True to its Italian heritage, there is a wide selection of Italian wines and spirits that include classics like Amarone, grappa and brunello. A range of spirits and cocktails, along with attentive service, help get an evening going on all the right notes.
Starters include comforting offerings like hand-cut fries with rosemary and truffle mayo, as well as crispy calamari. For something a little different, try the zucchini flowers with mortadella, pistachio and lemon honey. The star of the menu are the pizzashandcrafted and cooked in wood-fire ovens. Go for the one with bone marrow, wild garlic pesto and anchovy salsa verde for something deliciously different. If tummy space permits, wrap up the meal with desserts like tiramisu or the velvety ricotta castagnole with moscato sabayon.
