Its decor is atypical of a Japanese restaurant, with industrial-chic elements like cement walls, exposed pipes and black metal furnishings. The food, however, is unmistakably Japanese. Come for the a la carte or omakase offerings and you won’t be disappointed with the likes of kanpachi truffle carpaccio and aburi sushi.

The chilled angel hair topped with sakura ebi and ikura is also sublime. Lunch options are affordable—the five-course menu, offering an appetiser, sashimi, main, soup and dessert is priced at $68 per person.
