Overlooking the Padang and Marina Bay, Smoke and Mirrors is a trendy rooftop bar at the National Gallery Singapore. Choose between al fresco or indoor seating, before settling down to order from a range of creative alcoholic concoctions. Those getting in touch with their feminine side should try Painting Class, a fizzy pisco-based strawberry sake with a hint of elderflower, served in a champagne glass with an elegant stroke of edible pain on the side. For a bracingly masculine cocktail, order Nakajima Dansu, which has undertones of cherry blossom tea bourbon layered with apricot brandy and apple and orange bitters.

A small selection of snacks and mains are on the menu to complement your merrymaking. Quick bites include crispy fish skin crackers with spices and truffle fries. Meatier options are available in the form of tender hoisin-glazed beef rib cubes, a delicious half-serving of traditional Peking duck with crepes, and salted egg yolk chicken wings.
