There’s plenty to like about this charming cosy eatery, from its beautifully appointed location in a former army barracks to its lovely vintage-style cutlery and crockery, and of course, its fun, original menu that gives local culinary traditions a modern, anglicised twist.

Nosh on dainty crispy lobster wantons and spicy mushroom dumplings, and follow up with signatures such as the Singapore chilli soft shell crabs, chilli jam prawns and crispy deep-fried beef tossed in a sticky, sweetish orange sauce. Another easycrowd pleaser for those who like spice—the PS Crab & Prawn Laksa.

As befits its name, Chopsuey is a delicious creation, and in this case, a stylish one.
