Run by chef-owner Gabriele Piegaia, Burlamacco Ristorante has been serving classic Tuscan cuisine since 2012. Six years on, the establishment retains its warm hospitality and authenticity, as chef Piegaia continuously ups the ante with ever more delectable Tuscan delights.
The starter of burrata cheese served with tomatoes and Parma ham is simple and satisfying. Another dish that comes highly recommended is the hand-chopped red tuna tartare served with avocado battuta, which is light and refreshing. Other specials like the pappardelle with pork leg ragout, linguine with Boston lobster tail in spicy arrabbiata sauce, and traditional black squid ink risotto with gold leaf are all memorable and worth trying. If you like something meaty, opt for the beef short ribs with marsala wine sauce, which is slow-cooked for 48 hours, resulting in flavourful and fork-tender meat.
The dessert selection is extensive, with about 10 choices.
We recommend the tiramisu with the slightly crunchy base, fluffy mascarpone chees and lashings of rum, which is heady without being overpowering.
