White Rose Café’s Penang Hawkers’ Fare every March, September and December is much anticipated by locals and tourists alike. For two weeks at a time, diners can expect guest Penang hawkers to helm live stations during lunch and dinner buffets, whipping up Penang favourites such as Penang laksa, char kway teow, oyster omelette and ban chang kueh (peanut pancake). The rest of the time, the coffeehouse offers an a la carte menu, or their Treasured Flavours of Singapore daily a la carte lunch buffet.
Some must-orders from the latter are fish head curry, black ink sotong and chyee poh omelette. End the meal on a sweet note with local desserts such as chendol, cheng tng and ice kachang.
