Ginett is a breath of fresh air in the crowded dining scene on the island. High ceilings and full-length French windows give it a bright and cheery vibe while the decor is exemplified by an industrial chic look. The service is prompt and staff knowledgeable. There is a concise menu for lunch along with more elaborate dinner offerings.

You could drop in for a glass of wine and order the one metre board on the side. Literally spanning one metre, it boasts a variety of cold cuts, cheese and a pâté to pick on as you sip your glass. For a light lunch, pick the earth salad bowl that’s heaped with superfoods like quinoa and micro herbs. Or a more indulgent option would be their excellent pork belly, crispy skin up, served on a bed of potato mash.

For dinner, the oysters are a must, as are the meat selections from their charcoal grill. Finish your meal with a molten chocolate cake which requires 20 minutes to make, but as the server said, is well worth the wait. An unpretentious restaurant which lets its food do the talking, Ginett is a welcome addition to Singapore’s food space.

*Good to note: Ginett offers a varied and well-priced selection of wines by the glass, mainly featuring small producers sourced directly by the restaurant itself.
