Located in a conservation bungalow set amidst the lush greenery of the Botanic Gardens, Corner House must count as one of the most picturesque restaurants on the island. While it’s easy for restaurants of such fortunate circumstances to bank on their good looks, Corner House delivers on every count, making dining here a most salubrious experience.
Homegrown talent Jason Tan dishes up beautiful, inspired plates with aplomb. His degustation-only menu changes regularly, but signatures such as Oignon Doux Des Cevennes remain. The humble onion takes centrestage in four iterations: a hollowed cup cradling sweet onion puree paired with a sous-vide egg and topped with black truffle; a delicate onion tart with onion confit; wafer- thin onion chips and a sweet ethereal onion tea.
