This beautifully designed Italian bar and restaurant tucked away in the heart of Raffles Place is as perfect a spot for a business meal as it is for a romantic date. The menu is succinct, but with sufficient variety to offer something for everyone, from antipasti such as burrata with porcini and truffle to elegant mains such as roasted quail with foie gras and heirloom carrots. There is also a sound selection of freshly made pasta on offer; afterall, what’s an Italian meal without pasta? An evening might kick off with platter of bombolini, or frieddoughnuts with parmesan, sent out by the chef. Made to be eaten in a single bite, this moreish snack explodes in the mouth with intense flavour, whetting the appetite for more delicious things to come.

For starters, order the crab and cucumber cannolo, which features seasoned crabmeat wrapped in slivers of cucumber and served with baeri caviar. Its flavours are surprisingly refreshing, a delicate blend of sweet, salty and gentle pops of tartness. The handmade pastas are excellent; try the silky pappardelle tossed with chunks of tender pork cheek lacedwith red wine sauce. Vegetarians can opt for the tagliatelle with wild mushroom and truffle that’s light, delicately creamy and redolent of earthy flavours in the mouth. Desserts will prove equally delicious with tempting offers likeraspberry chocolate cake with tangy mango and passionfruit sorbet, and smooth, milky dulce de leche pannacotta with crunchy caramel pop corn.
