Edit: ilLido at the Cliff has closed and re-opened as The Cliff.

ilLido at the Cliff offers a delightful epicurean experience set against the breathtaking backdrop of the South China Sea. The dishes you’ll find here are as beautifully plated as the restaurant’s setting. For starters, the grilled octopus is a sensorial delight. Morsels of octopus are charred to smoky perfection, crisp on the outside yet succulent within. The accompanying grilled eggplant and tangy peppers accentuate the flavours wonderfully. The Hokkaido scallops are just as stellar. The sweet, tender shellfish are lightly seared and complemented with savoury and crispy pork lonza.

For the mains, the pappardelle with wagyu beef and hazelnuts is a simple yet hearty option. The homemade pasta is cooked al dente and the beef, meltingly tender and flavourful. The hazelnuts liven things up and add a delightful crunch and texture to the dish. Fish lovers should ask for the black cod with caramelised celeriac and lemon capers. The fish is expertly cooked, with crisp skin and flaky, creamy flesh. The highlight of the mains is the bone marrow-crusted Angus beef tenderloin. The buttery, umami-packed bone marrow and splash of marsala jus add a burst of flavour and texture to the masterfully prepared tenderloin. Round off the meal with almond panna cotta, which is smooth and milky, with just the right balance of sweetness. Its simplicity hides a smorgasbord of textures and flavours—luscious set cream, refreshingly sweet peach and tart berries.
