As its name suggests, Equilibrium strikes a fine balance with classic European staples and modern infusions. The older sister of the casual Supply & Demand restaurant opened by Cre8 group, the vibe here is more upmarket and classy with a stylish, chic interior.

Both the cocktails and wine lists are innovative and comprehensive. For cocktails, try the sour plum applejack, a sophisticated and bubbly version of sour plum shots many Singaporeans know and love. The FML is a classic Cuba Libre made with mint-infused rum and served withdelightful coke caviar.

The food menu is extensive, featuring close to 30 different side dishes and antipastos, and 30 main courses. Start with a serving of the irresistible salted egg dirty fries, fluffy thick-cut fries topped with a rich salted egg yolk sauce. For a sweet and meaty alternative to fried calamari, try the fried octopus. The pork belly bombette skewer, meanwhile, is a seemingly innocuous pork ball that explodes with flavour when you bite into its filling of spicy parmesan infused with herbs.

For mains, try the tomato-infused risotto with pork sausage, bacon and arugula. Pizzas are a highlight here, served “crispy yet fluffy” as the menu promises. Baked upon order, guests can choose two flavours on each pizza or have it as a calzone, or folded pizza. Good old carbonaramakes a delicious transition in the form of pizza carbonara. Cream sauce is spread over a thin pizza crust and topped with ham, bacon and an egg—perfect for those who want a luxurious breakfast for dinner.

Save room for dessert, especially the sinful homemade chocolate cake. Service is attentive, and the team knows their menu well, a must in our book.
