Cook & Brew

Gorgeous raw wooden floors, plump red leather stools and a black marble bartop render Cook & Brew an inviting, cosy hideaway. Indeed, it is a haven for harried executives from the surrounding financial district and tourists alike, who make up much of the clientele at this sky-high establishment that serves up a fantastic view of the Marina Bay. Its menu is a happy blend of local and international food served alongside a wide assortment of drinks. Try the whipped buffalo milk ricotta served with a drizzle of truffle honey and slices of sourdough bread. The honey’s sweetness provides a good foil to the rich ricotta, while the truffle perfumes it all with a whisper of delicious earthiness.

Succulent turkey meatballs are served in a delectable tomato sauce flecked with pecorino cheese and accompanied by fried bread. This winning dish can also be ordered as a main course, with pasta instead of bread.

Some Cook & Brew classics include the house-made fresh smoked pork sausage and beef pot roast. The former is served with Szechuan-style gong bao sauce, sweet potatoes, spiced cashew nuts and pork rind. The pot roast is made with USDA beef short ribs, and features goat cheese & mascarpone polenta, semi-dried tomato jus and shaved kale. Indeed, these are comfort dishes at their very best.

Speaking of comfort, don’t miss out on the Poutine “Eh”, a generous serving of French fries, cheese curds and pulled pork served with a cider gravy. While this is meant to be a sharing plate, you should not be surprised if your friends end up fighting over who gets that last fry.
