Singapore's Top Restaurants

Shahi Maharani Restaurant

Shahi Maharani is appointed with dark wood, gilded chandeliers and gold accents. Its tandoori dishes are particularly good, especially the chicken malai tikka comprising morsels of boneless chicken that have been marinated in yoghurt, cheese and spices.

The raan sikandra is another winner, with the forktender leg of lamb coated in a special spice blend. The palak paneer—homemade cottage cheese in a minced spinach gravy—hits the spot without being too heavy. For seafood, Goan prawn curry perfumed with coconut, tomatoes and spices is a fine choice.

Pair these main dishes with garlic naan or gorgeously scented saffron rice. The restaurant also serves a value-for-money buffet lunch with dishes that change daily, so regulars are always spoiled for choice.
