Singapore's Top Restaurants

#WTF wine.tapas.friends

The cheeky acronym, which stands for wine, tapas and friends, perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this bar. The IndoChine Group’s latest addition along Club Street will not disappoint those in search of a casual, convivialwatering hole that also serves some seriously good grub.

The focus here remains firmly on the dazzling array of alcohol by the bottle at reasonable prices, including a good range of premium gin and whiskey. Old and New World wines are also well represented, with someavailable in sampling portions.

Foodwise, the tapas selection offers tasty nibbles such as juicy, charred meat skewers aka satay, served with peanut sauce; and homemade meatballs with spiced rice popcorn. The #wtf sliders, which come in three delicious options—pork, chicken and beef— also make perfect bite-sized treats to go with the selection of craft beers. Or opt for the charcuterie and cheese platters, which are good for sharing and make excellent bar snacks. The former features duck rilletes, proscuitto di Parma and homemade pâté amongst other tasty morsels.

For a fancier dish to pair with wine, go for the Norwegian salmon sashimi with betel leaf, rice popcorn and Russian red caviar. The salmon tartare also deserves a mention—hints of kaffir lime and lemongrass pairnicely with the fresh fish, giving this ubiquitous classic a lovely Asian twist. For something more substantial, ask for the restaurant’s rendition of prime Australian grass-fed striploin, accompanied by a moreish homemade IndoChinese dip that pairs well with the juicy steak.
