This chic, modern bistro situated in the former compound of Monk’s Hill Secondary School serves excellent European fare with a dash of old school charm. The menus are designed to look like school books, while the furniture is reminiscent of classroom benches and tables.

Start the evening with fresh oysters in the form of a lychee saketini granite or oysters cooked in a rich mentaiyaki sauce. The main courses are generously portioned and include the likes of hibachi pork rack served with barley risotto, toasted almond flakes and pork crackling. The misozuke cod is particularly good—the miso-glazed fillet sits atop a bed of golden corn succotash infused with the salty smoky goodness of bacon.
