Singapore's Top Restaurants

Porta Fine Food & Import Company

Away from the usual restaurant hubs, Porta along Robertson Quay is the perfect spot for a quiet, cosy meal. And with executive chef Michael Suyanto—formerly of Les Amis—at the helm, you can be sure the meal will be excellent. A small, focused menu of Mediterranean cuisine is served in this breezy, sunlight-filled restaurant. Topping it off is its unbelievably sweet pricing and genuinely friendly service, which makes Porta a restaurant to return to often.

Creamy fresh burratina with juicy, tangy momotaro tomatoes in a light pesto dressing and kombu make a great light starter, with its indulgent textures and sparkling flavours. Have the Spanish octopus too—smoky flavours and delightfully chewy textures make this one of the best in town. The fluffy patatas bravas potatoes are perfectly done—fluffy inside, and lightly crisp on the outside. For mains, the generous portion of cheese ravioli, with its indulgent creamy tomato coulis and pestoGenovese is perfectly moreish, while the Iberian pork secreto is moist, bursting with delicate meaty flavour and delightfully tender.

The coconut blancmange and frozen Grand Marnier souffle are just the sweets to end the meal on a light, elegant note. The small cocktail menu includes a selection of curated gin and tonics which makes weekday lunch hour just right.
