This suburban outpost of the popular Min Jiang restaurant at Goodwood Park Hotel is housed in a gorgeous black and white colonial bungalow, giving it a quiet, relaxed vibe.
The menu offers a huge selection of Chinese dishes, headlined by the outstanding Peking duck, roasted to lacquered perfection in a wood-fired oven. Chef Goh’s Appetiser Platter comprising lobster swathed in salted egg yolk, pan-fried scallops stuffed in tientsin pear with X.O. sauce, crispy eel, and fried diced chicken with Sichuan pepper, offers a sampler of some house favourites and is a great way to start off the meal.
Other recommended dishes include braised wagyu beef cheek with papaya paste, stewed lobster with eggplant and minced chicken spiked with Szechuan chilli sauce, and juicy pan-fried scallops with crabmeat and scrambled milk served atop a rice crisp.
The restaurant features a good selection of wines, with both Old and New World options, alongside a varied assortment of premium Chinese teas.
