Welcome to the kitchen table, the restaurant in Sentosa where giantoverturned tables suspended from the ceiling set the tone for a fun,whimsical setting. Flooded with plenty of natural light from floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the restaurant also serves up lovely views of the marina.
While the kitchen table is known for its daily buffet spread,particularly its decadent Sunday Remix 2.0 Brunch, it also serves an a la carte menu. The theme is modern Asian cuisine, with local ingredients and dishes skillfully adapted for a more Western palate.
Kick start your meal with the zucchini noodles—accompanied withgrape tomatoes, cucumber, Thai basil and buttery peanut sauce.
The selection of main courses is extensive and highlights includepan-seared salmon on cauliflower purée, truffle oil and rocket leaves, and braised lamb shank cassoulet with meat so tender, it falls off the bone onto a delicious bed of soft lentils. Singaporean favorites make an appearance, too—go for the chili crab with fried mantou.
Conclude your meal with sweet treats such as the indulgentMississippi mud pie, a thick fudge-like mousse topped with vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce. Want something Instagram-worthy? Go for the W Sundae, that lets you inject chocolate from a syringe into a tall glass packed with colorful scoops of ice cream. For more local flavours, ask for the almond jelly served with gula malaka ice cream or aloe vera in honey water and basil seeds.
